  • This course includes Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR/AED, and is designed to teach the skills and knowledge to recognize, prevent, and respond to various conditions.
  • Our certifications last 2 years. Lifeguards must attend a shorter recertification class before their expire to keep them current.
  • Students will learn to provide care for aquatic scenarios, cardiac and breathing emergencies, and even different injuries and sudden illnesses.

Prerequisite Swim Evaluation

Online & Classroom

Upon arrival, candidates must successfully complete the following skills prior to the start of class.

  • Swim: Swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both (back or side strokes are not permitted).
  • Tread: Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only your legs.
  • Swim: Swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both.

Online Portion Details:


1. You will be sent the link to the online portion after submitting your registration for the class.


2. Candidates must successfully complete the mandatory online portion prior to the start of class.


3.The online portion takes about 7 hours to complete and includes videos, quizzes, and a final exam.

In-Person Classroom Details:


1. Students are required to attend all sections of the class totaling 20 hours over the course of 2 days.


2. The training will include water and land skills both days so please be prepared with a swimsuit and dry change of clothes.


3. Upon successful completion, Lifeguards will receive their certifications in their registered email.

  • Swim: Swim 20 yards (without goggles) and locate a brick submerged 7-10 feet deep in the pool.
  • Dive & Retrieve: Surface dive (feet or head first) and retrieve the brick.
  • Swim Back: Swim with the brick back to your starting location, keeping it above water and holding it with both hands.
  • Exit: Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
  • Time Limit: Complete the entire test within 1 minute and 40 seconds.
